Whether you're preparing for marriage or have been married for decades, this retreat is designed for married and engaged members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints who desire a stronger, more intentional, Christ-centered marriage.
This retreat is for couples who recognize that healthy marriages are built by healthy individuals. Rather than simply learning new communication techniques, you'll discover how your life experiences, family relationships, and personal patterns continue to shape the way you love, communicate, and connect with one another. Through evidence-based relationship principles and gospel-centered application, you'll gain greater understanding of yourselves, deepen emotional and spiritual intimacy, and strengthen your covenant relationship.

Dr. Alyssa Botte is a developmental psychologist and Licensed Mental Health Counselor who helps individuals and couples understand how early experiences, attachment, and personal growth shape the way they love, communicate, and connect. Her warm, engaging approach integrates contemporary relationship science with gospel-centered principles to support greater self-awareness, emotional security, and spiritual intimacy.
I want this retreat to help couples heal the shame underneath their marriage, not just fix what's on the surface.

David Kolker is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and experienced couples therapist with more than a decade of clinical experience. I want couples to be able to gain connection without losing their authentic individuality.

Nick brings warmth, energy, and genuine hospitality to the retreat. He is passionate about personal growth and the role strong, intentional relationships play in building meaningful lives. His approachable presence helps couples feel welcomed, comfortable, and supported throughout the weekend so they can focus fully on one another.
I handle what happens behind the scenes, so your only job that weekend is each other.
This is not a traditional marriage conference or lecture series. Approximately 85% of the weekend is experiential, meaning you'll spend most of your time actively engaging with your spouse through carefully guided conversations, reflective exercises, and facilitated experiences rather than simply listening to presentations. Each experience intentionally builds upon the last, helping you move beyond understanding relationship concepts to actually experiencing deeper connection together.
Throughout the weekend, you'll be invited into an environment of emotional safety where curiosity replaces criticism, vulnerability replaces defensiveness, and understanding takes precedence over fixing. As you explore the experiences that have shaped your relationship, you'll develop new ways of connecting that foster greater trust, intimacy, and unity.
This is intensive and personal work. You will explore the family you grew up in and the wounds that shape how you show up in your marriage. Some of it happens in group discussion, some privately with your spouse. Your facilitators will always be clear about which is which before an exercise begins. You will always be able to decline to participate or share any information with others that you do not feel comfortable sharing.

This retreat was designed specifically for members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and is facilitated by licensed mental health counselors. Every part of the retreat is designed to help couples apply what they learn through guided, experiential sessions rather than only listening to presentations.
No. Any couple that is engaged or married is encouraged to attend. However, couples in a dating relationship who are not engaged would not be the best fit.
That's completely understandable. We encourage you to explore the retreat together, without pressure. You're also welcome to schedule a complimentary 15-minute call with us so both of you can ask questions and decide together whether it feels like a good fit.
Is what we share confidential? It is possible that you may know another couple attending. Every retreat begins with a group covenant in which participants agree to respect one another’s privacy and keep what is shared within the retreat. And you will never be required to share private details about your marriage with the group.
Pre-registration is strongly encouraged so we can plan the weekend around your couple, but you're welcome to register up to the day of the retreat if space allows.
Payment can be made any time before the retreat begins. There's no deposit required to hold your spot.
